Customer Insights Analyst

Role: Customer Insight Analyst

Rate: £550 p/d – Inside IR35

Location: Remote first – Southampton HQ - 2 days per month on site

Duration: 6 months

Following a major restructure, our newly integrated CRM, Loyalty, and Insight team is looking for a heavy-hitting contractor to join the Customer Analytics function. We’ve brought these disciplines together to create a powerhouse of marketing analytics, and we need someone who can hit the ground running while our permanent team scales up.

Experience Required:

  • Advanced SQL skills are essential for data extraction and manipulation. Proficiency in Python is required for more sophisticated "deep-dive" statistical analysis.
  • Experience within a Retail environment is highly preferred but not essential,
  • Experience working with loyalty schemes and CRM data.
  • A proven track record of taking complex data and turning it into a compelling "story" for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a "project-based" capacity where you are responsible for defining the scope and delivering insights with minimal supervision.
  • An understanding of promotional mechanics and how customer data feeds into broader strategic business goals.
  • Comfortable working within a recently restructured environment and able to collaborate effectively with both Web Analytics and Customer Analytics leads.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end analytical projects focusing on customer behaviour, loyalty, and CRM effectiveness to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Category and Marketing teams to analyse and influence promotional strategies, ensuring a data-driven approach to trade activities.
  • Translate technical outputs into "business-ready" presentations. You won’t just report numbers; you will explain the implications to senior leadership.
  • Analyse the impact of the recent team restructure by looking at the holistic customer journey across CRM, Loyalty, and General Insights.
  • Identify where the business is "leaving money on the table" by spotting trends within internal customer data that others might miss.
  • Serve as a technical point of reference for permanent team members, demonstrating what "great" looks like in SQL/Python coding and analytical methodology.
