Job Title: Data Analyst (Finance Data)

About the Role We're looking for a skilled Data Analyst to join our finance data products team. You'll work closely with finance and business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate them into clear technical requirements, and help deliver end-to-end solutions that improve reporting, insights, and decision-making.

In this role, you'll act as the bridge between business requirements and technical delivery-making complex data understandable, optimising reporting processes, and ensuring that data supports strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to understand data requirements.

  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.

  • Take ownership of the analysis process from requirements gathering through to testing and deployment.

  • Document requirements clearly (user stories, features, epics).

  • Work with engineers and testers to ensure accurate delivery.

  • Support business users during UAT and act as a point of escalation for data-related issues.

  • Mentor team members and share best practices.

  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in business analysis, data analysis, or BI (finance or insurance sector experience a plus).

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex datasets.

  • Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehousing, and reporting systems.

  • Solid understanding of financial metrics and reporting.

  • Experience with database management and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with semantic layer tools and SSRS.

  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
