Data Engineer

Role: Data Engineer (Early Careers)Location: Surrey Salary: £41,000 Flexible working: 2 days a week in the office

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an early careers Data Engineer to join a growing and highly collaborative data team supporting both business-critical operations and future-focused innovation projects. This role offers a mix of hands-on production support and strategic platform modernisation work within a modern Azure-based environment. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to AI initiatives, support evolving data platforms, and work with emerging technologies including Microsoft Fabric, GitHub, Apache Airflow, and intelligent automation tooling. Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain production data environments, BAU jobs, and business-critical data processes across pricing, finance, and underwriting functions.
• Develop, refresh, and extend data warehouse solutions while supporting modelling and analytics teams with high-quality data engineering practices.
• Contribute to strategic platform modernisation initiatives including AI projects, Microsoft Fabric exploration, GitHub adoption, and Apache Airflow implementation.
• Work within a collaborative Azure-based data engineering environment, bringing strong SQL and general data engineering expertise; SAS experience is beneficial but not essential.
