Data Migration Lead / Data Lead / Data Migration / Workday Specialist

Our client who are a highly respected UK organisation and brand are searching for a top quality a Data Lead / Data Migration Lead to support a major HR transformation programme, ensuring high-quality data is extracted, cleansed, validated, and prepared for successful Workday implementation. This is some what a unique role as we need someone who is technically very strong from a Data perspective and possesses excellent Workday knowledge. The client is really keen to identify someone who has worked on multiple migration programmes previous.

Working as part of the project team, you will support prototype delivery, data readiness, and integration across functional workstreams, ensuring data meets architectural, compliance, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract and prepare HR and employee data from legacy systems for migration into Workday

  • Transform, cleanse, and validate datasets to meet agreed standards and Workday requirements

  • Conduct data gap analysis and support remediation of missing or inconsistent information

  • Collaborate with Data Architecture to align data definitions, business terms, and conformed datasets

  • Provide functional data input into Workday configuration, data modelling, and interface mapping

  • Configuration - provide Workday expertise during the process design and configuration phase; oversee and sign off the overall data model in Workday
  • Integration - provide experience-based functional data guidance to the IT and SI teams to assist with interface design and data mapping aspects
  • Ensure data privacy and security requirements are met (GDPR knowledge desirable)

  • Own, track and resolve Data Issues, escalating these to Data Owners and Stewards as and when needed. Ensure all data processes are documented clearly and maintained and logged correctly within the project Microsoft Teams / Sharepoint where needed.

  • Maintain clear documentation, reporting, and artefacts in line with project governance

  • Build strong relationships with HR stakeholders, implementation partners, and delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate data delivery

Experience / Knowledge needed:

  • Experience of working with the HR function
  • Excellent abilities when it comes to extracting data from legacy systems, cleansing data, validating data, transforming data and preparing to hand over to the IMPL Data lead.
  • Demonstrable HR data architecture experience
  • Identify and analyse data needs, touch points and requirements across Workday Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll and/or Absence functional areas
  • Experience in data prototyping processes in HR system change/transformation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent tool skills and understanding of the ETL process within Workday
  • Must be adept working with the DGW's.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 Workday Projects. Working within HR teams (Ops and Advisory)
  • Knowledge: Excellent understanding of Workday Launch lifecycle and methodology. Good understanding of downstream systems and the potential data required. Good understanding of cut-over and Workday methodology and the associated demands.
