Data Migration Specialist
Role: Data Migration Specialist Location: Remote (UK-based)Hybrid working: Remote-first (occasional team meet-ups possible)Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Start date: ASAP
My client, a specialist technology organisation, is seeking a Data Migration Specialist to join their growing team. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale system migrations, focusing on SQL and ETL processes, with the opportunity to expand into broader customer-facing migration projects after the initial programme delivery.
Key skills/responsibilities:
- Write, test, and debug SQL queries to support ETL processes.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues, identifying whether fixes are data-related or require development input.
- Ensure migrations are delivered accurately and within time constraints.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and occasionally with customers to explain data issues and manage expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of migration processes.
Essential skills:
- Strong SQL skills (query writing, debugging, troubleshooting).
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data workflows.
- Ability to work independently and flexibly to meet project deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and ownership mindset.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with C# or PowerShell.
- Previous data migration experience across internal or external systems.
