Pay rate: £500 per day inside IR35

Location: the role is predominately remote, but candidates should be willing to come into the office as and when required (London).

Role Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ericsson UMC Platform Specialist to join our DevOps team. This role is essential for supporting the installation, configuration, and operation of software applications and components within Ericsson's Upper Mobile Core (UMC), running on CNIS (Cloud Native Infrastructure Solution) and NFVI (Network Functions Virtualisation Infrastructure) platforms.

The successful candidate will ideally bring expertise in Ericsson telecommunication platforms, particularly UMC, and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, automated, and scalable deployment and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Ericsson UMC applications and components on CNIS and NFVI platforms.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, and network teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of UMC-based services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform and application-related issues to maintain high availability and performance.
• Automate deployment and operational tasks.
• Monitor system health and performance using Ericsson and third-party monitoring tools.
• Participate in platform upgrades, patching, and life cycle management of UMC components.
• Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on Ericsson UMC platform capabilities and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience with Ericsson CNIS and NFVI platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Ericsson Upper Mobile Core (UMC) and related components.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native principles, Kubernetes, and containerised applications.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Ericsson certifications in CNIS, NFVI, or UMC technologies.
• Experience with 5G Core and other mobile core network functions.
• Knowledge of network function virtualisation (NFV) and orchestration (MANO) concepts.
• Exposure to agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
