Lead Data Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Analyst to take ownership of the day-to-day analytics and reporting function within a complex, data-driven environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for managing a team of analysts, overseeing reporting delivery and ensuring data and insight are reliable, accessible and aligned to business priorities.

The role will sit at the centre of analytics and business operations, working closely with senior stakeholders to translate requirements into meaningful reporting, insight and performance measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of Data Analysts, providing coaching, mentoring and technical direction.
• Own the delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation's reporting and analytics capability.
• Oversee the design, development and maintenance of dashboards, management information and reporting solutions.
• Ensure reporting is delivered accurately, consistently and in line with agreed service levels and data quality standards.
• Translate business requirements into clear KPIs, analytical outputs and actionable insight.
• Prioritise team workload and resources against business objectives and stakeholder requirements.
• Drive improvements in reporting processes, automation, scalability and efficiency.
• Act as the key point of contact for analytics and reporting requirements across the organisation.
• Build strong relationships with operational teams, senior leadership, customers and external stakeholders.
• Present insight, trends and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Champion strong data quality, governance and consistency across reporting and analytical outputs.
• Identify data integrity issues and work with engineering and business teams to resolve them.
• Support the development and maintenance of business metrics, data definitions and reporting standards.
• Contribute to the wider development of data strategy and analytical capability.

Experience Required

• Significant experience within Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or a similar analytical function.
• Previous experience leading or managing a team of Data Analysts.
• Strong track record of delivering enterprise-level reporting, dashboards and management information.
• Experience defining and developing KPIs, performance measures and operational reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leadership teams.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical analytical solutions.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance and reporting standards.
• Experience working with modern BI and data visualisation platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to turn data into meaningful business insight.

Desirable

• Experience working within a large, complex or highly data-driven organisation.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management and master data principles.
• Experience delivering both internal operational reporting and external/customer-facing analytics.
• Experience improving or transforming an established analytics and reporting function.
