MS Dynamics 365 - BC / Shopify Engineer

Rate – £475 - £500 Outside IR35

Duration – 3 months

Location – Fully remote

We’re seeking a Business Central and Shopify Support Engineer to join a client of ours growing at a substantial rate! This role bridges ERP and e-commerce platforms, ensuring seamless integration, smooth operations and excellent support for our business users. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem solving skills and a customer focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Shopify platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system integrations, data synchronization and workflows
  • Liaise with support partners for issues that require 2nd/ 3rd line support and coordinate activities between partners where required
  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyse business requirements and implement solutions
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement
  • Assist with configuration, customisation and updates to Business Central and Shopify
  • Document support cases, resolutions and best practices for knowledge sharing
  • Train and guide end-users on system functionality and best practices
  • Work closely with developers and vendors to escalate and resolve complex issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP modules, finance, inventory, sales)
  • Experience with Shopify (Avalara, store setup, apps, themes, POS, APIs)
  • Understanding of integration tools and middleware (e.g., BC to Shopify connector, APIs, EDI)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data analysis for troubleshooting and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate)
  • Familiarity with e-commerce workflows (order management, fulfilment, payments)
  • Knowledge of Azure services or other cloud-based environments

Previous experience in a support engineer or application specialist role
