Network Engineer (Hybrid – London)
A growing UK specialist financial services organisation is looking for a Network Engineer to join a small, high-impact infrastructure team. This is a hands-on role covering network design, support, security, and delivery across a modern enterprise environment.
You'll play a key role in maintaining resilient, secure, and scalable network services supporting business growth.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing network solutions
- Supporting firewalls, routing & switching, voice, video, and load balancing
- Monitoring performance and ensuring high availability
- Troubleshooting network and connectivity issues
- Managing patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Supporting infrastructure projects and business initiatives
- Maintaining documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
- Identifying automation and optimisation opportunities
Tech Environment
You’ll work with technologies such as:
- Cisco routing & switching
- Palo Alto / Cisco Firepower firewalls
- Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- VPN & remote access technologies
- Cloud networking (Azure / AWS / Cloudflare)
- Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, CheckMK etc.)
- Voice / VoIP solutions
- Cisco ISE / Network access control (desirable)
- Network automation / DevOps practices (desirable)
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has CCNP (or equivalent experience)
- Has strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Is comfortable working across design, support, and delivery
- Communicates well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Takes ownership and works proactively
- Is keen to learn and develop technically
The Details
- Location: London (Hybrid 50/50)
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00–5:30 with occasional out of hours on callout
- Travel: Occasional UK travel
- Team: Small, collaborative infrastructure team
- Environment: Fast-growing, specialist financial services organisation
