PMO Consultant

PMO / ePMO Consultant - Outside IR35 - 3 month initial contract - Hybrid 1 day on site weekly

Our client are seeking an experienced PMO/ePMO and PPM Advisory Specialist to support a strategic review of portfolio management capabilities and tooling.

The successful candidate will validate and refine an existing capability framework, assess market-leading portfolio management solutions against defined requirements, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support supplier selection and progression to a formal RFP process.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate existing capability models and supporting artefacts.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops across business and technology functions.
• Identify capability gaps, overlaps, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Benchmark current and target capabilities against industry good practice.
• Highlight any additional capabilities required to support future organisational objectives.
• Assess the PPM/ePMO tooling marketplace against the validated capability framework.
• Produce a capability-to-solution coverage assessment.
• Identify strengths, limitations and trade-offs of relevant market solutions.
• Recommend a longlist and shortlist of suppliers suitable for progression to RFP.

Preferred Experience

We are looking for individuals with demonstrable experience in:

• Enterprise PMO (ePMO) and Portfolio Management transformation.
• PMO capability assessments and operating model reviews.
• Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tooling selection.
• Vendor-neutral market assessments.
• Governance, resource planning, financial portfolio management and project controls.
• Leading workshops with both senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Producing executive-level recommendations and decision papers.
