Principal Software Engineer

Tech stack: Adobe AEM/CXP/CDP, Informatica MDM, Java, Angular / React, Microservices, Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)

Location: Fully remote

Salary: up to £110,000 (depending on experience)

Sanderson Recruitment are exclusively supporting a FTSE 100 Financial Services and Insurance business in the search for a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, you will shape and deliver the technical strategy for their customer-facing digital platforms, including marketing websites, quote-and-buy systems and the technology that ensures a seamless experience for customers.

You'll be the technical expert, shaping architecture, guiding engineering teams and ensuring platforms are robust, secure and scalable, while working with key stakeholders to deliver solutions that support business goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of high‐performing solutions
  • Set technical direction and mentor engineers; champion engineering best practices (DevOps, automation, CI/CD) and continuous improvement.
  • Own SaaS platforms configuration and lifecycle (e.g., Adobe CXP/CDP, Informatica MDM)
  • Proactively tackle performance, security and technical debt
  • work with InfoSec, Data Governance, and Architecture to meet standards and roadmap objectives
  • Contribute to PI and sprint planning, provide estimates, manage risks/dependencies and remove impediments for squads

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive SaaS configuration and management experience, especially with Adobe and Informatica suites
  • Deep software engineering expertise across modern frameworks and cloud (Azure/GCP/AWS), microservices and API design
  • Strong delivery leadership - mentoring engineers, steering strategy and balancing innovation with operational excellence
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
