Role: Product Owner – Marketplace

Rate: £600 p/d Inside IR35

Location: London HQ – 3 days p/w on site

Duration: 6 months – extensions likely

We are seeking a high-calibre, self-sufficient Lead Product Owner to drive the delivery of a major Marketplace platform launch. This is not just a "squad-level" PO role; you will be the glue between three distinct engineering squads, managing complex dependencies across commercial teams and external platforms.

You will own the day-to-day delivery for the marketplace app, ensuring seamless customer journeys across international banners.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a marketplace environment, ideally mobile app.
• Ability to manage multiple squads as a hands-on Product Owner. You must be comfortable diving into the detail while maintaining a bird's-eye view.
• Strong understanding of Microservices, ATG, and front-end app/web delivery.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of aligning commercial teams with technical engineering squads.
• A "day-to-day owner" mentality - someone who can navigate ambiguity and take initiative without supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and requirements for 12 engineers across three squads (Data, Front-end/Design, and Microservices).
• Work closely with the Design team to sign off on front-end customer journeys and write comprehensive requirements for apps and web.
• Navigate a complex ecosystem, coordinating with the "Basket," "Checkout," and "PDP" teams to ensure marketplace features integrate perfectly with core commerce functions.
• Manage the relationship with 3rd party external platforms, ensuring vendor data is correctly pushed and coordinated across internal data teams.
• Function as the primary point of contact for the "Marketplace" domain delivery.
