OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with strong Business Analyst capabilities to support a high-profile public sector programme. This is a 12-month contract opportunity working on critical digital transformation initiatives that deliver meaningful impact to citizens and public services.
The role is fully remote, with very occasional travel to London-based offices for key workshops or stakeholder sessions.
The RoleYou will operate at the heart of a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team, ensuring effective Scrum practices while also contributing to business analysis activities. This is a hybrid role suited to someone who can facilitate Agile ceremonies with confidence while also eliciting, analysing, and documenting business requirements.
You will play a key role in enabling delivery momentum, removing impediments, and strengthening collaboration between technical teams, product owners, and senior stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesScrum Master Duties
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives)
Coach teams in Agile best practices and continuous improvement
Remove blockers and manage dependencies across teams
Support the Product Owner in maintaining a healthy, prioritised backlog
Track and report on delivery metrics (velocity, burn-down, risks)
Business Analyst Responsibilities
Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and validate requirements
Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
Support process mapping and documentation
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
Ensure traceability from business requirements through to delivery
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile delivery environments
Strong Business Analysis experience within complex programmes
Experience working within public sector or government environments
Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills
Ability to write high-quality user stories and supporting documentation
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe desirable)
Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence
Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, PSM)
Business Analysis certification (e.g., BCS, IIBA)
Experience working on digital transformation or large-scale service redesign
Understanding of governance and compliance within public sector settings
Competitive day rate of £516.70 per day
12-month contract with potential extension
