Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to lead within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The role will focus on enabling the effective delivery of high-quality, user-centred digital products aligned to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and agile delivery practices, ideally within a wider public-sector context.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure services are delivered efficiently from discovery through MVP and into live operation, while supporting strong collaboration, clear governance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support multidisciplinary teams and ensure alignment with user needs, organisational priorities, and GDS standards

  • Enable and embed strong agile delivery practices, supporting teams through discovery, alpha, beta, and live phases

  • Work closely with Product Managers, User-Centred Design (UCD), and Design Thinking teams to research, define, design, and deliver modern, customer- and citizen-facing digital services

  • Support post-MVP activities, including cost-benefit analysis, options appraisal, and contributions to business cases to inform scaling and long-term investment decisions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, helping to bring together clinical, operational, technical, and policy groups around shared outcomes

  • Identify, manage, and resolve delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers across teams and programmes

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and collaboration across delivery teams

Skills and Experience Essential
  • Proven experience leading or managing in a digital or technology-enabled environment

  • Strong experience with agile delivery methods and a solid understanding of GDS principles and standards

  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience supporting cost/benefit modelling, business casing, or investment decisions

  • Outstanding collaboration, relationship, and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience working with User-Centred Design or Design Thinking teams to deliver modern, user-focused digital products

Working Style:

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating clarity in fast-moving environments

  • Confident facilitating delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders

  • Strong communicator, able to translate delivery progress, risks, and decisions for varied audiences

  • Passionate about agile ways of working and improving public services through digital deliver
