Senior Product Manager - EU Delivery, Insurance
Senior Product Manager / Senior Product Owner / Digital Product Manager / Head of Product / Head of Digital Product
£650-700 p/d - Umbrella Engagement - 3 month initial contract - 2 days per week on site in London
Overview:
We are looking for a highly autonomous, delivery-focused Senior Product Manager to lead the rollout of established digital products into new markets across Europe.
This is a hands-on product delivery role sitting at the intersection of digital product, technology, regulation and insurance operations. Rather than building entirely new products from scratch, you will take existing digital propositions and lead their adaptation and implementation across different European countries.
A major part of the role will be understanding the requirements of each market and ensuring the product is appropriately configured for local regulation, underwriting rules, policy requirements, compliance and operational processes.
Working across Product, Technology, Underwriting, Compliance, Legal and local market teams, you'll act as the bridge between business, technical and regulatory stakeholders, translating complex country-specific requirements into clear product requirements and ultimately driving them through to successful delivery and launch.
The role requires someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguity. You won't always be presented with a clearly defined requirement or roadmap. You'll be expected to ask the right questions, work out what needs to happen, bring the right people together and create the structure and momentum needed to get it delivered.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the end-to-end rollout of digital products into new European markets, taking ownership from initial requirements through to successful launch.
-
Understand how existing digital products and propositions need to be adapted to meet country-specific regulatory, underwriting, policy, compliance and operational requirements.
-
Work with local market stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge assumptions and identify where changes to the core product are genuinely required.
-
Translate complex business, regulatory and operational requirements into clear product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
-
Work closely with engineering, architecture and technical teams to ensure requirements are understood, appropriately designed and successfully delivered.
-
Partner with Underwriting, Compliance, Legal, Operations and other specialist teams to ensure market-specific requirements are appropriately reflected within the product.
-
Identify gaps, risks and dependencies early and proactively drive them through to resolution.
-
Own and manage delivery priorities, dependencies and product requirements across multiple market launches.
-
Help balance the need for localisation with the integrity of the core product, avoiding unnecessary complexity or fragmentation wherever possible.
-
Coordinate product configuration, localisation, technical integrations and market-specific functionality
-
Provide clear visibility of delivery progress, risks and dependencies to senior stakeholders.
Experience & Skills
We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
-
Strong experience working as a Senior Product Manager, Technical Product Manager or similar product leadership role.
-
A proven track record of successfully delivering complex digital and technology products.
- Experience of using AI as part of the role would be really advantageous, using AI to help shape back logs, user stories, etc.
-
Experience launching, rolling out or adapting products across multiple countries, markets or regulatory jurisdictions.
-
Strong experience operating within complex or highly regulated environments.
-
Experience within insurance or financial services would be particularly valuable.
-
Knowledge or exposure to underwriting, insurance policies, regulatory requirements and compliance would be highly advantageous.
-
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the confidence to challenge requirements and assumptions constructively.
-
The ability to take complex business or regulatory problems and translate them into clear product and technical requirements.
-
Experience working closely with engineering, development and architecture teams.
-
Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly across technical, commercial, regulatory and operational functions.
-
Strong delivery capability with experience managing multiple priorities, dependencies and stakeholders.
