Senior Software Engineer

Sanderson are working with a leading financial services organisation that puts customers at the centre of its business. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of software development; from small front-end changes to developing APIs supporting new functionality across multiple platforms. You will have the opportunity to shape and deliver large-scale systems projects, working in an agile environment that values collaboration, rapid learning, and the continuous delivery of valuable software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality code adhering to team and regulatory standards, including reviewing the work of peers.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver significant new features and enhancements for digital platforms.
  • Provide engineering support and maintenance for existing applications.
  • Ensure that all solutions, new and existing, are reliable, secure, performant, and maintainable.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests alongside code and document solutions to agreed team standards.
  • Keep up to date with secure coding practices and apply them consistently.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships within the squad and the wider business.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Typescript and React, developing modern, scalable, and high-performance web applications.
  • Proficient in PHP, with experience in a LAMP (Linux/Apache/MariaDB/PHP) environment considered advantageous.
  • Experience in migrating legacy systems to modern architectures and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API development, web application design patterns, and secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and integration with third-party services; experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS is a plus.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a starting salary up to £80,000 (DOE) and a remote-first working model.
