Position: SharePoint SME Location: Farnborough Day Rate: £550 to £700 per day inside IR35 SC Clearance Required

We're working with a major consultancy delivering secure digital solutions into the UK defence sector, and we're looking for an experienced SharePoint SME to join their team. This is a key role supporting mission-critical programmes, modernising collaboration platforms, and ensuring SharePoint environments are secure, scalable and fit for purpose.

The Role

As the SharePoint Subject Matter Expert, you will:

• Lead the design, configuration and optimisation of SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint On-Prem environments.
• Act as the technical authority for SharePoint across multiple defence projects.
• Work closely with security, architecture and project teams to ensure solutions meet MOD and NCSC standards.
• Develop and maintain document management solutions, workflows, automation and governance frameworks.
• Support migrations, upgrades and integration activities across complex, secure environments.
• Provide expert guidance to stakeholders, engineers and end-
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced SharePoint issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across collaboration and knowledge-management platforms.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a SharePoint SME, Consultant or Architect.
• Strong background working within the UK defence sector or other highly regulated, secure environments.
• Solid understanding of M365, Power Platform, Teams integration and wider Microsoft ecosystem.
• Experience with SharePoint governance, security, permissions models and compliance.
• Hands-on experience with migrations (SharePoint 2010/2013/2016 to Online is a bonus).
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear, confident manner.
