Software Engineering Manager

As a Software Engineering Manager, you would play a pivotal role in leading and inspiring an engineering squad, delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. You will foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration, while supporting career growth and wellbeing within your team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a software engineering squad to consistently deliver high-quality software, balancing delivery with innovation.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and psychological safety within your team.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent, providing coaching, mentorship, and structured career development.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and senior stakeholders to ensure engineering outcomes align with business and client priorities.
- Champion agile delivery, DevOps, secure practices, and team ways of working to maintain high standards across the squad.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in software engineering leadership, with a track record of managing and building high-performing teams.
- Strong technical background, capable of guiding and challenging engineers without needing to be hands-on in a specific tech stack.
- Experience structuring technical work, managing priorities, and delivering complex projects in a regulated environment.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to influence stakeholders and promote alignment across teams.
- Ability to foster a friendly, collaborative, and inclusive culture, encouraging team members to challenge, innovate, and continuously improve.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering a starting salary up to £95,000 (DOE) and a remote-first working model.
