Solution Architect - Digital, Web Apps, API

We are supporting a well-known and highly regarded UK brand as it delivers a portfolio of digital initiatives across customer-facing web applications. These programmes focus on improving user experience, scalability, and platform capability across multiple high-impact projects.

As a Digital Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design and delivery of modern digital web solutions. You'll work closely with product managers, engineering teams, and third-party vendors to ensure solutions are technically robust, aligned to business goals, and delivered in a collaborative, outcome-driven way. While this is a hands-on technical role, success depends heavily on your ability to engage stakeholders, guide decision-making, and balance competing priorities.

• Define and own solution architecture for customer-facing digital web applications across multiple concurrent projects.

• Partner with product and engineering teams to translate business and user needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.

• Provide architectural leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle, from discovery and design through build, integration, and release.

• Collaborate with third-party vendors and delivery partners, reviewing designs, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, and managing dependencies.

• Design and govern integration patterns between web applications, APIs, back-end systems, and third-party services.

• Establish and maintain architectural principles, standards, and guardrails to ensure consistency and quality across digital platforms.

• Identify and manage technical risks, trade-offs, and dependencies across a complex delivery landscape.

• Facilitate architecture and design forums, clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping align technology decisions with business and product strategy.

• Support continuous improvement by promoting modern engineering practices, tooling, and architectural approaches.

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering modern digital web applications at scale.
• Strong understanding of web application architecture, including front-end frameworks, APIs, cloud platforms, and integration patterns.
• Experience working closely with product-led teams and agile delivery models.
• Comfortable operating in multi-vendor environments and collaborating with third-party technology partners.
• Able to balance hands-on technical depth with strategic thinking and pragmatism.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across teams and levels of seniority.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly and confidently.
• Experience working in complex, regulated, or high-traffic environments is advantageous but not essential.
