T echnical Product Manager / Head of Product / Head of Product Management

£650-£750 p/d - Inside IR35 - 6 month initial contract - on site 1 day per week - Start within the next 4 weeks.

We're looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to join a major digital transformation programme, working at the heart of Product, Architecture and Engineering. We're ideally looking for Product specialists who understand Software architecture and modern architecture patterns such as Composable Architecture or MACH Principles. This isnt hands on in terms of software development but knowledge of how to build technical centric platforms. The role is drive the modernisation of a legacy platform.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, defining platform capabilities, and working closely with Solution Architects, Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers to deliver scalable, cloud-based products and shared services.

You will own product strategy, roadmap and backlog priorities within your domain, translating business objectives into tangible technical solutions whilst ensuring teams remain focused on delivering the highest-value outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering Managers, Solution Architects and business stakeholders to define and evolve the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
• Lead discovery activities including requirements gathering, domain analysis, process assessment and solution shaping.
• Define and deliver shared platform capabilities, services and technical products.
• Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring teams are focused on the most valuable opportunities.
• Translate business and customer needs into clear problem statements, epics and user stories.
• Work closely with Architects and Engineers to identify, design and deliver innovative technical solutions.
• Drive delivery across APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, authentication services and modern software architectures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on sizing, planning and business case development.
• Manage product risks including value, usability, feasibility and technical viability.
• Measure product success through data, customer feedback and business outcomes.
• Contribute to the development of Product Management best practice across the organisation.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Technical Product Owner or Senior Product Manager.
• Experience within Wealth Management, Asset Management, FinTech, Banking or Financial Services environments.
• Strong track record working directly with Solution Architects, Software Engineers and Engineering leadership teams.
• Excellent understanding of APIs, systems integration, cloud-native platforms and modern software engineering practicesAWS or other cloud platform experience.
• Technically minded and have experience managing software products and navigating difficult technical trade-offs
• Experience delivering complex platform, digital or enterprise technology products.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance business value, customer outcomes and technical considerations.
• Data-driven decision maker, comfortable using both quantitative and qualitative insights to shape product direction.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Experience operating within Agile product teams and modern delivery environments.
