Test Lead FTC
12-month Fixed-Term Contract Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Hybrid working (approx. 3 days per week on-site)
An organisation undergoing a major technology transformation is seeking an experienced Test Lead to join its Business Change function on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
You'll take ownership of the end-to-end testing approach across multiple workstreams and suppliers, ensuring high-quality delivery and confident go-live decisions.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll set testing direction, coordinate activity across teams, and actively support planning, execution, and assurance.
The RoleAs Test Lead, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering a robust testing strategy across a complex transformation programme. Working closely with internal teams, external partners, and programme leadership, you'll ensure testing activity is aligned to delivery milestones and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:

Defining and maintaining an overarching test strategy across all phases, including SIT, UAT, regression, and security testing

Leading test planning, scope definition, entry/exit criteria, and environment planning

Coordinating day-to-day testing activity across multiple systems and suppliers

Managing defect triage, prioritisation, and resolution processes

Tracking progress and providing clear reporting on risks, issues, and readiness

Providing go-live assurance and test completion sign-off

Driving continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and quality standards

Proven experience as a Test Lead or Test Manager within large-scale system implementations or transformation programmes

Strong knowledge of SIT, UAT, regression, and non-functional testing

Confident leading and coordinating testers and testing activity across parallel workstreams

Solid understanding of structured testing methodologies and defect management

Experience with test management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or TestRail

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities
