We're seeking an experienced User Researcher to join a high-profile government programme focused on delivering user-centred digital services. This role will involve working in a multidisciplinary team to plan, design, and carry out research that informs product and service design decisions.

The successful candidate will hold active SC (Security Check) clearance and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

• Plan, design, and conduct user research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods.

• Work collaboratively with designers, product managers, and developers to ensure research insights directly inform decision-making.

• Present findings in clear, actionable ways that influence product and service improvements.

• Conduct usability testing and user interviews both remotely and in person.

• Champion user needs across the project, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity are embedded in all stages.

• Manage research activities in line with government service standards and ethical research principles.

Skills Required

• Proven experience as a User Researcher in a digital, user-centred design environment (preferably within government or large-scale organisations).

• Strong understanding of user research methodologies and when to apply each.

• Demonstrated experience working in Agile multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Familiarity with GDS (Government Digital Service) principles and service assessments is highly desirable.

• Must hold current SC clearance (essential).
