Virtualisation Engineer - National Security Sector
About the RoleJoin a high-impact team working at the forefront of national security. As a Virtualisation Engineer, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing secure infrastructure environments. You'll be responsible for supporting virtual systems, ensuring performance, and driving compliance across mission-critical platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first and second-level technical support for incidents and problems
- Monitor system performance and ensure smooth functionality
- Create, maintain, and utilise technical documentation
- Support compliance with internal processes and security policies
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices
- A proactive mindset focused on root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Collaborative attitude - eager to share knowledge and learn from others
- Risk-aware approach to identifying and resolving potential issues
- MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR DV CLEARANCE
- Deep understanding of virtualisation technologies
- Experience with installation, upgrading, and support of:
- Windows Server 2016/2019
- AWS and Azure cloud platforms
- Familiarity with Red Hat products:
- Satellite 6, OpenShift 3/4, RHEL/CentOS 6/7/8, RHEL Atomic/CoreOS
- Active Directory expertise:
- Object and OU creation, RBAC, DFS
- Knowledge of VSAN, SCVMM, Hyper-V
- Networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN
- Scripting and automation:
- PowerShell, Bash, Python, Git
- Awareness of McAfee EPO/ENS
