AI Engineer - Hedge Fund - Up to £400k TC

You are building the AI platform at one of the most serious AI spenders in the entire UK.

This is not a firm where you spend your days navigating politics or waiting for portfolio managers to sign off on your technical decisions. The AI team owns the AI roadmap, full stop. You build what you believe is right, and the business gets behind it.

The scale here is worth pausing on. Around $80 billion in assets managed by roughly 700 people. That leanness means your work touches everything. There is no bloated middle layer absorbing the impact of what you ship. You feel it, and so does the firm.

On AI spend, this place sits in the top 5% globally across the buy-side, top 10% of all UK companies across every sector, and in the top 20 by absolute spend in the UK. This is not a company experimenting with AI. It is a company that has decided AI is the edge, and is funding that belief properly.

You will own the whole AI platform. That means designing and evolving multi-agent, LLM-based systems at a level of ambition most engineers never get near. Greenfield in the truest sense, with the budget and the autonomy to match.

You have shipped multi-agent and LLM-based systems into production before. Not prototyped them, not contributed to someone else's version. Shipped them. Your Python fundamentals are strong and you know what good looks like because you have built it.

The total compensation is up to £400k. For the right person, this is the role you will look back on as the one that defined your career.
