Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Integration Architect to support a complex digital transformation within a financial services environment, ideally across asset and wealth management. The successful candidate will define and guide integration architecture across client-facing digital applications, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned to both current and future business needs.
This is a pragmatic, delivery-focused role requiring someone comfortable operating in fast-moving, changing environments, with the ability to balance technical design, stakeholder needs, roadmap control, and delivery constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the integration architecture across client-facing digital platforms, portals, and supporting systems.
- Assess existing legacy systems and design integration approaches that connect them effectively with modern platforms and APIs.
- Work closely with delivery, product, engineering, and business stakeholders to shape technical decisions and ensure alignment to scope and roadmap.
- Document architecture decisions, interface patterns, dependencies, risks, and assumptions clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support the design of resilient, scalable, and future-proof integration solutions.
- Provide guidance on API strategy, system interoperability, and platform integration across client/advisor-facing applications.
- Ensure integration designs support secure, maintainable, and efficient delivery in a regulated financial services environment.
- Contribute to technical governance, design reviews, and architecture assurance activities.
- Identify and manage technical constraints, dependencies, and trade-offs proactively to maintain delivery momentum.
- Collaborate with third parties and internal teams to drive delivery through complex transformation programmes.
Required Experience
- Strong background in integration architecture.
- Proven hands-on experience in client-facing digital/application environments, particularly client/advisor portals.
- Experience working across legacy and modern platforms, including APIs and integration patterns.
- Ability to document technical decisions and communicate them clearly to varied stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in complex, changing delivery environments.
- Experience controlling or influencing scope, roadmap, and delivery prioritisation.
- Background in financial services, ideally asset or wealth management.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with Backbase.
- Experience integrating broader client-facing financial applications, such as Salesforce.
- Exposure to large-scale transformation programmes.
- Experience designing solutions with futureproofing in mind.
