Up to £200,000 base + bonuses - Lead a brand new data function at a commodities trading firm

Report to the CTO and Head of Data Science in this global commodity trading house.

The team is in place to bridge the gap between front office analytics and the wider IT team – You'll be the architect and go-to person within a team of data engineers and DevOps engineers supporting architectural decisions, technical direction and stakeholder interactions, likely traders and analysts.

Your likely experience is 8 years+ in a data engineering setting and likely making the jump from a lead engineer into something like this - As this team is currently growing, direct reports could be approx of 12 engineers (Junior, Mid-level and Senior.)

Technical experience will be with Python, dealing with huge volumes of data at scale across both bathc and stream processes. Orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Datawarehouse is Snowflake whilst having microservices experience within a cloud environment, ideally AWS.

A solid all rounder who can still roll their sleeves and get amongst the code.

If you have domain experience, great – but it's NOT essential.
