Senior AI Data Scientist - UK Public Sector

We are looking for an experienced Senior AI Data Scientist to support a major public sector Data & AI programme. You will design, develop and deploy data science and machine learning solutions using the Microsoft Azure AI stack, translating complex data into actionable business insight.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, build and deploy data science and ML workflows using Azure ML Studio and Python
• Develop advanced analytics models to answer strategic business questions
• Monitor model performance, identify drift and support retraining activities
• Apply Generative AI techniques, including prompt engineering, where appropriate
• Produce dashboards and insights using Power BI and strong data storytelling
• Ensure solutions meet security, governance, and responsible AI standards
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and senior stakeholders

Essential experience:

• Strong Python data science background (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure ML Studio
• Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and evaluation techniques
• Experience applying Generative AI in real-world use cases
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and model observability
• Excellent communication skills
• Security Clearance

Nice to have:

• Azure Data Scientist Associate certification
• Experience with Power Platform/M365
