I’m currently working with a high-growth technology company that's building advanced AI systems, transforming how large enterprises operate.

They are developing a platform that combines large language models, intelligent agents, and optimisation systems to automate complex operational workflows and enable organisations to deploy AI securely across their business.

As they continue to scale, they are looking to hire a Head of AI Platforms & Engineering to lead the development of their core AI platform and engineering organisation.

The Role

This position sits at the intersection of AI systems, platform engineering, and enterprise software.

You will be responsible for leading the architecture and delivery of production AI systems used by global customers, while growing and mentoring a high-performing engineering team.

The platform combines technologies such as:

• Large language models and agentic workflows
• Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Optimisation and decision intelligence systems
• Enterprise integrations with existing platforms and data systems

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the engineering team responsible for the company’s AI platform
• Own platform architecture, technical strategy, and engineering delivery
• Build production-grade AI systems integrating LLMs, agents, and data pipelines
• Work closely with product and leadership teams to define the AI roadmap
• Collaborate with enterprise customers to design scalable AI solutions

What They’re Looking For

• 10+ years of software or platform engineering experience
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex systems at scale
• Strong background in AI/ML platforms, data platforms, or large-scale distributed systems
• Experience building products that integrate with enterprise environments
• Hands-on technical leadership with the ability to contribute to architecture and design
