Google Workspace Migration Consultant
We are seeking a hands-on Google Workspace Migration Specialist to ensure the underlying network does not delay or disrupt the Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace migration.
The successful candidate will directly drive three core business outcomes: ensuring a blocker-free technical environment, delivering an exceptional user migration experience, and building internal capability to manage the platform post-launch.
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes
Technical Readiness & Infrastructure
- Firewall readiness: implement the firewall configuration changes required for Google Workspace.
- Network validation: validate network/firewall rules and remediate gaps or conflicts.
- Identity readiness: configure network-dependent identity controls such as IP allow-listing and conditional-access locations.
- Successful mail cutover: support DNS/MX changes and validate mail flow between the Microsoft and Google environments.
- Security & compliance: ensure network changes comply with Fifty5Blue security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Separation alignment: coordinate network changes with the wider Fifty5Blue Separation programme and obtain required sign-offs.
- Successful UAT/go-live: diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues during testing and migration.
- Documented environment: provide an auditable record of network and firewall changes and support knowledge transfer.
- Controlled cutover: support network change freezes during migration/cutover windows.
- Wider network engineering: provide routing, switching, VPN, load balancing and segmentation expertise where required.
Migration Execution & User Support
To ensure users can successfully move to and operate on Google Workspace while Fifty5Blue builds its permanent support capability.
- Effective 2nd/3rd-line support for Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs and Meet.
- Successful onboarding of users during each migration wave.
- User adoption: hands-on support for employees unfamiliar with Google Workspace and resolution of adoption/friction issues.
- Google Workspace administration: user/OU management, licensing and basic security/DLP administration.
- Technical escalation: manage complex issues through to the migration technical team.
- Knowledge base: document recurring issues and FAQs.
- Knowledge transfer: prepare Fifty5Blue's permanent Google Workspace support team to take over.
- Migration-wave support: maintain sufficient, professional support during peak migration periods.
