Location: Remote with occasional travel to client site
Duration: 6 months with likelihood of extension
Our client, a leading global consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced SAFe B2B Portfolio Architect to lead architecture across core corporate domains including HR, Finance, Legal & Regulatory, Sourcing, and Employee Support Systems. This is a key role within a large-scale agile transformation programme, responsible for shaping and governing enterprise architecture at the portfolio level while ensuring strategic alignment and business value.
The successful candidate will work in a SAFe environment, collaborating with business and technology leaders to define future-ready, cost-effective IT solutions that support long-term enterprise goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Own and manage architecture across the "Corporate" SAFe Portfolio.
- Define and maintain portfolio-level target architecture across functional, software, and technical layers.
- Lead the development of the architectural runway and enabler epics.
- Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects to ensure coherence and strategic fit.
- Lead a community of System Architects and promote architectural best practices.
- Facilitate cross-portfolio integration and optimise the use of shared platforms and services.
- Develop architecture documentation and transformation roadmaps.
- Monitor emerging technologies to evolve the architecture strategy.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 15+ years of IT experience, including 10+ years in architecture roles.
- Proven track record in SAFe environments (SAFe for Architects certification required).
- Strong domain knowledge across corporate functions:
- HR: Workforce planning, HR admin, talent management, compensation.
- Finance: Accounting, financial management, invoicing.
- Sourcing: Procurement, supplier management, contract governance.
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, Cornerstone, Talentsoft.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, system integration, and data governance.
- Proficiency with architectural frameworks (eg TOGAF, Zachman) and modelling tools (eg LeanIX, ArchiMate).
