Senior Cloud Native Data Platform Engineer – Fully Remote (UK Only)

Permanent or Contract (Outside IR35)

A leading global logistics and supply chain client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Native Data Platform Engineer to join a strategic cloud migration project. This is a fully remote opportunity, offered on either a permanent or contract basis, outside IR35.

The Project:

Join a high-impact initiative focused on a cloud platform migration from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), modernising data infrastructure to improve scalability, analytics, and business insight capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage cloud-native data platforms across Azure and GCP.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Manage configuration and automation with Ansible or Puppet.
• Automate workflows and processes using Bash, Python, or TypeScript.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
• Work with databases such as Postgres and Cassandra.
• Manage and optimize data storage and analytics services, including ADLS, ADF, ADX, BigQuery, BigLake, and Pub/Sub.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience with Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
• Strong background in Terraform and cloud automation.
• Solid experience in configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Expertise in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions and ADO.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Cassandra).
• Experience with data storage and analytics pipelines.
