Senior CI/CD Software / Platform Engineer (Highly Specialised Role)

Fully Remote (UK Only)

This is not a typical DevOps or Software Engineering role.

We are looking for a true CI/CD specialist, someone who has built enterprise-scale delivery platforms from scratch, not just maintained or configured pipelines.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining a high-performing engineering team responsible for global-scale delivery pipelines for a major enterprise programme.

The focus is on:

• Designing and building CI/CD platforms used across multiple teams globally
• Creating reusable, standardised pipeline frameworks
• Embedding security, governance, and best practices directly into delivery workflows
• Enabling engineering teams to self-serve high-quality pipelines at scale

This is platform engineering for CI/CD, not general DevOps.

What We’re Actually Looking For

You must have hands-on experience in:

• Building CI/CD platforms from scratch (not just contributing to existing ones)
• Deep expertise with GitHub Actions, including:
• Custom actions (ideally in TypeScript)
• Reusable workflows
• Organisation-wide pipeline frameworks
• Designing developer tooling and self-service platforms
• Implementing secure-by-default pipelines (OIDC, secrets management, permissions)
• Standardising CI/CD across multiple teams / repos / business units

What Doesn’t Fit

This role is not suitable if your experience is primarily:

• Full-stack or backend engineering with “some CI/CD”
• Basic pipeline setup (e.g. Jenkins jobs, simple GitHub workflows)
• DevOps focused on infrastructure rather than developer experience + delivery platforms

Tech Environment

• GitHub Actions (core platform)
• TypeScript / Node.js
• Cloud: Azure / GCP
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CDK)
• Kubernetes / containerised environments
