Data Architect - London Market/Specialty Insurance - London/Hybrid - OUTSIDE IR35.

Our client, a dynamic London Market/Specialty insurance firm based in the City of London, requires an experienced Data Architect to work on a high-profile project.

As Data Architect you will:

• Lead the design of the enterprise data architecture across Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Regulatory domains;
• Architect and oversee a scalable, governed data analytics platform on AWS aligned to Specialty insurance needs;
• Champion architectural best practice with implementation vendors, guide engineering teams on best practices in modelling, orchestration, and performance tuning;
• Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Finance, and Claims to align data strategy with business outcomes;
• Lead delivery of data products and self-serve analytics tools used across the business;
• Translate complex requirements into modular, reusable data components and pipelines; and
• Ensure architectural decisions enable AI-readiness, transparency, and auditability.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 7+years Data Architect experience gained within London Market/Specialty insurance;
• Strong skills in AWS and PowerBI;
• Deep understanding of London Market data flows, including bordereaux, Delegated Authority, syndicate structures, and market messaging; and
• Experience of working across Underwriting, Finance, and Claims.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in the London (City) office.
