SOC Lead - Banking - London, City - Umbrella Company/Inside IR35

SOC Lead - Banking - London, City - Umbrella Company/Inside IR35. Our client, a leading banking client based in the City of London, require a SOC Lead (VP Level) to join their busy team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in the London office.

As SOC Lead you will:

• Own complex investigations, a team of SOC analysts and translate incident impact into business terms for senior-level stakeholders;
• Triage, investigate and resolve true-positive incidents end-to-end;
• Manage the SOC analyst team (eg rostering, mentoring, performance feedback);
• Act as point of escalation and lead incident response for Tier 2 events;
• Produce clear incident summaries and brief senior stakeholders;
• Maintain/improve SOC runbooks, playbooks and triage guides; and
• Drive detection tuning and use-case development, and participate in post-incident reviews and lessons learned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years SOC/IR experience with demonstrable true-positive case handling end-to-end;
• Proven team lead experience (mentoring, shift coordination, performance management);
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical incidents in layman's terms;
• Experience in banking/investment banking/financial services essential;
• Knowledge of EDR, SIEM and SOAR platforms; and
• Proven experience improving SOC KPIs (MTTR, false positive rate, coverage).
