SCADA Support Engineer
Schneider Electric is seeking a Support Engineer to join our Industry & Process AutomationSCADA Operational Support team. This role will be based mainly at our Coventry offices, although you will be expected to travel to customer sites, or one of our other Industry & Process Automation offices based in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the technical support of customer systems working within our SCADA Operational Support team. Our customer base is varied with many national infrastructure utilities customers within Water and Energy Distribution as well as Renewables.
In this role you will work to ensure continued smooth operations for our customers, troubleshoot and diagnose faults in a wide range of areas including Geo SCADA software, AVEVA PI, Outstations (RTUs), Communications (serial, PSTN, network TCP/IP, GSM and mobile data networks), telemetry protocols (DNP3, DNP3 WITS, MQTT, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-x, OPC, etc), Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, server and client hardware, Microsoft Azure.
Key Tasks
• Detailed issue analysis, fault-finding and diagnostics• Work together with the customer and keep them updated at every stage as one team• Collaborate with other areas of the organisation as required to find the solution. This to include other engineering departments, sales and project delivery.• Prioritise the investigation of issues based on their impact and severity• Testing of software and deployment of routine updates• Work proactively to identify and resolve potential problems before they occur• Author documentation, including customer reports and internal knowledge-base articles to continually improve our service.• Proactive monitoring of Cloud based systems• Configuration of RTU/Outstations
About You
Working in a team environment reporting to the Services Support and Training Manager, you will be passionate about supporting customer systems to the highest level of customer satisfaction. This challenging and interactive role is suited to a candidate who is methodical, possesses excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, together with great interpersonal and communication skills. You will work well under pressure and be self-motivated, representing our business both internally and externally with our clients.
Experience in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) / Telemetry systems or a similar Support role is an advantage. Knowledge of ClearSCADA / Geo SCADA would be desirable but not essential. You will hold a full UK driving license and prepared to travel to customer sites when required.
After an agreed period you may be required to go onto the on-call rota within the team, providing 27/4 on-call support
