Background

We are the wealth management business of the FTSE-listed global investment manager Schroders. We are one of the largest UK-based wealth management firm, headquartered in London but with offices around the country as well as a Global presence. We help private clients, families, charities and some institutions meet their long-term goals by offering our expertise in investment, wealth planning, lending and family office services. We draw on the resources of the Schroders group, as well as having our own in-house investment team.
We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We're close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.
Role Overview
You will have a reporting line into the Wealth CFO/COO. You will drive data governance and transformation initiatives across Wealth in support of the broader Wealth operating model transformation strategy and in line with the Schroders Data Office federated model. Working closely with various teams, including the Schroders Data Office, Global Wealth offices, Global Operating platform and Global Technology.
Responsibilities
  • Establish Wealth data strategy, ensuring its alignment with the evolving Wealth strategy and the overall Group Data Governance standards and strategy.
  • Define delivery roadmap for Wealth data strategy and support its implementation within Wealth transformation projects
  • Collaboration and Synergy: Act as a conduit to the Schroders Data Office , Global Operating platform, Global Technology. and other domains. Identify and agree on synergies, ensuring collaborative approaches to data management across the organisation.
  • Define and own the current state Wealth data model and governance process and ensure compliance to the Group Data Policy. Assess and prioritise key areas of risk, proposing solutions for improvement and alignment with business goals.
  • Target State Wealth Data Model and Data Migration approach. Take the Data Lead role in the Wealth replatforming project, working with the business and platform provider(s) to model how we will map our data structures into the target platform and what data cleansing and migration approach we take.
  • Risk Management: Ensure data risks are well understood, accepted, and managed within the Wealth division. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Data Ownership: Identify and assign data ownership responsibilities across the business. Ensure these responsibilities are adequately performed and act as the point of escalation for all data-related issues within the division.
  • Critical Data Elements (CDEs): Identify, approve, and document CDEs essential for robust data governance. Ensure they are maintained with oversight and proper governance practices.
  • Data Quality Oversight: Oversee data quality measures to ensure information accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance data quality.
