Senior Quality Engineer (Digital Health / SaMD)

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to design and lead quality assurance strategies that ensure reliable, scalable, and secure digital products. You will take ownership of QA practices across a high-impact health-tech platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve engineering standards, user experience, and overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement quality assurance strategies aligned with iterative development and scalable architecture.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in product quality, user experience, and system reliability.
  • Serve as a technical leader for QA, setting standards and mentoring teammates in best practices.
  • Champion modern QA methodologies and technologies, including automated and manual testing approaches.
  • Foster a culture of security-first thinking by guiding peers on secure testing practices.
  • Be a central voice for quality across the organization, providing clear feedback and maintaining quality gates for releases.
  • Maintain deep familiarity with QA tools and stay current with emerging trends in testing and quality assurance.
  • Act as a mentor to others by promoting respectful, constructive, and knowledge-sharing communication.
  • Prioritize effectively to balance immediate needs with long-term quality goals.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to technology leadership on quality metrics and initiatives.

Desired Profile:

  • Solid experience in building and scaling QA processes for secure, performant, and maintainable web applications.
  • Hands-on expertise in both manual and automated testing, with knowledge of leading QA tools and frameworks.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., digital health, SaMD) and familiarity with ISO 13485, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Strong passion for quality and software craftsmanship, with a practical and resourceful mindset.
  • Experience mentoring and collaborating with peers on quality topics.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous, startup-like environment.

Initial Success Metrics (First 3 Months):

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the product domain, technical architecture, and codebase with a QA lens.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to the team’s QA strategy and test infrastructure.
  • Establish strong cross-functional relationships across engineering, product, and broader business units.
  • Contribute to shipping key product improvements with a focus on reliability and user impact.

Technical Environment:

  • Primary stack includes TypeScript with React (front-end) and NestJS (back-end)
  • Testing tools: Jest, ViteTest, and Playwright
  • Architectures include SPAs, REST, and GraphQL APIs
  • Hosted on AWS using ECS, RDS, S3 and related services
