Investment Banking - Network Automation - Python, routing, switching, wireless, WAN - CONTRACT
Network Automation Engineer supports the development and maintenance of network automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, visibility, and incident response.
This role is for developing and applying skills in Python-based automation, network fundamentals, and operational support automation within a structured engineering environment.
Requirements
Experience Range:
4-6 years of experience in network operations, automation, Scripting, or infrastructure support roles
Working knowledge of Python, including writing and maintaining scripts.
Basic understanding of REST APIs and JSON-based data exchange.
Exposure to Back End frameworks (such as Django or Flask) is a plus.
Fundamental understanding of enterprise networking concepts:
Routing, switching, wireless, and basic SD-WAN concepts.
Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, or telemetry tools.
Basic understanding of Linux environments and troubleshooting.
Ability to follow established designs and operational processes.
Strong willingness to learn and grow technical depth in automation and networking.
Exposure to automation or Scripting used in operational environments.
Familiarity with version control systems (eg, Git).
Basic understanding of incident and problem management processes.
Awareness of observability concepts such as metrics, logs, and events.
Interest in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.
Contract Role inside IR35 - initial 12 month contract - 3 days a week in office (candidate can be based near Manchester/Liverpool/Stoke/Birmingham)
