Python Risk Developer - Contract - Shell Scripting, Pandas, Polars, AWS, SQL, indices
Our Hedge Fund client is looking for a Python Developer on a 6 month initial contract on their Risk Tech Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance index calculation engines and analytics frameworks using Python
- Build and optimize data pipelines for large-scale financial data processing
- Architect and deploy microservices on AWS cloud infrastructure
- Ensure code quality through testing, version control, and documentation
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in data analysis using Pandas/Polars
- Demonstrated experience with equity index products and performance benchmarking
- Expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database design/optimization
- Proficient in Git-based version control and CI/CD practices
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Aurora, Lambda)
- Knowledge of financial markets and investment products
- Experience with Real Time data processing and streaming architectures
- Familiarity with performance optimization and profiling tools
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration
Technical Skills
- Languages: Python, SQL, C#, Shell Scripting
- Frameworks: FastAPI/Flask, Pandas, Polars
- Cloud: AWS ecosystem
- Tools: Git, Docker, Jenkins/GitHub Actions
