VP Level Software Engineer (Java/Low Latency/Aeron)

Overview

Seeking a senior hands-on engineering leader with deep expertise in Java-based low latency distributed systems and high-performance messaging architectures. The role combines technical strategy, architecture, and execution across latency-sensitive platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of low latency distributed systems.
• Architect high-throughput event-driven and messaging platforms.
• Drive performance, resiliency, and scalability improvements.
• Mentor engineers across concurrency, JVM tuning, and distributed systems.
• Partner with leadership on platform strategy and technical direction.
• Contribute to production performance optimization and incident resolution.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building high-performance Back End systems in Java.
• Strong knowledge of low latency system design, concurrency, and JVM internals.
• Experience with Aeron or comparable high-performance messaging technologies.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Linux, networking, profiling, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives in demanding environments.

Preferred

• Experience with ultra-low latency optimization.
