£48,000 - £60,000 plus bonuses and excellent benefits

An established UK Defence contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of one or more complex engineering and technology projects into National Security customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects to agreed baselines, developing strong customer relationships, identifying follow-on business opportunities, supporting major bids, and contributing to the achievement of wider business objectives.

This role requires onsite working 4–5 days per week, based in Malvern or Cheltenham, with regular attendance at customer locations as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in a safe, secure and compliant manner.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-performing project culture.
  • Deliver project outcomes to agreed time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Manage project risks, issues and dependencies, resolving conflicts and competing priorities effectively.
  • Maintain accurate financial forecasts, resource plans and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure appropriate governance is applied throughout the project lifecycle, including reviews and reporting.
  • Provide regular project status updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Support business growth by identifying opportunities for follow-on work and contributing to bid activities.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate external suppliers to meet contractual obligations.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering complex engineering, technology or Defence / National Security projects within demanding timescales.
  • Demonstrable experience managing internal project teams, subcontractors and external delivery partners.
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement within Defence, Government or National Security environments.
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ), PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Experience managing project risk, budgets, schedules and resources.
  • Ability to work effectively within highly regulated and secure environments.
