Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role The Senior Cyber Security Technical Adviser supports cyber transformation programmes and other group wide cyber security initiatives with IT and OT cyber security strategic direction. The role holder will be responsible for directing and advising large and complex projects and programmes with decisions from a cyber security leadership position and providing a risk perspective. They will understand the NIS regulations and be able to advise on practical and cost-effective ways forward working closely with architecture colleagues. You will
- Provide cyber security technical risk-based analysis and advice and guidance into complex cyber transformation and digital transformation programmes.
- Lead complex transformative strategic projects to define direction for the SSE Group including presenting to senior governance boards. Work alongside Group or central initiatives and drive high collaboration with other technical disciplines to influence solutions to meet the business need.
- Collaborate with delivery teams & business stakeholders to ensure their programme outcomes are delivered with effective cyber security solutions and risk decisions to support their specific roadmaps.
- Perform detailed risk assessments on complex initiatives to direct projects and programmes.
- Harness the benefits of emerging technologies, such as AI, based on cyber security strategy, goals and objectives and complete innovation analysis to define ways forward for future technology and security solutions eg quantum computing.
- Excellent experience in cyber security and in particular IT and OT cyber security and risk management and strong understanding of cyber security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, IEC 62443, CIS Controls) and NIS Regulations.
- In-depth understanding of cyber security products, services, systems and solutions and exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments and the associated cyber security requirements.
- Awareness of the direction & solutions of the cyber security market, technology and solutions and keeping up to date with forward roadmaps.
- Experience in leading cross-functional and matrix teams and managing cyber security projects.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication, analytical and technical skills.
