About The Role
The System Accountant will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and improving the integrity of financial systems. This role ensures seamless integration between SAP, Business Central, WMS (Warehouse Management System), CBASE, and other business-critical applications.
This role bridges the gap between finance and IT, supporting financial reporting, system enhancements, and business process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across SAP, Business Central, WMS, CBASE, and other systems.
- Lead or support projects to improve system performance, streamline processes, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Liaise with IT, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure effective communication and system alignment.
- Support the design, testing, and implementation of system upgrades, patches, and new modules.
- Provide day-to-day user support for finance-related systems and troubleshoot system issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system processes, data flows, and controls.
- Assist in developing automated reports and dashboards to improve financial insight and decision-making.
- Monitor internal controls within systems to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic reconciliations between systems and investigate discrepancies.
What you’ll have:
Essential
- Strong experience with SAP (FI/CO or similar modules)
- Systems implementation experience
- Good understanding of WMS and inventory/stock system workflows
- Familiarity with CBASE or similar operational systems
- Proven experience in a system accountant or finance systems support role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Experience with system integration projects
- Experience in Business Central
- Knowledge of SQL, data mapping, or scripting tools
- Experience in a multi-system environment with data reconciliations and process mapping
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or part-qualified
