Management Accountant Job Description
Overview
Our client, a high growth AI driven SaaS business, are seeking a Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with 0-2 years PQ experience looking to grow and develop within a role as the business grows including taking on more responsibilities. Initially responsible for preparing the management accounts for the parent co and overseeing divisions. You will be a point of contact in the finance team for information relating to finance transactions and will liaise with staff to ensure accurate processing and reporting.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller.
Location: London
Format: 5 days per week in the office
Scope of the Job
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts for the parent co
- Posting journals, reconciling bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance team
- Overseeing the sales and purchase ledgers (ensuring posting is correct)
- Preparing accruals, prepayments and company ledgers
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Reporting on debtors and creditors to the senior finance team
- Key contact for the internal and external audits
- Driving month end and explaining/presenting the numbers
- Assisting with the NetSuite implementation including user acceptance testing
- Assisting with the annual budget process
- Ad hoc accountancy and finance tasks where required
Experience
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience within a high-growth, dynamic environment and multi-country preferable
- SOx/US GAAP experience preferable but not essential
- Experience of working within a listed international group environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
- Experience with Excel and ERP systems (currently QuickBooks moving to NetSuite)
Skills
- Excellent communication skills are required, with an ability to convey financial information clearly
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role is essential and be able to use financial software and systems efficiently to support this
- A self-motivated, tenacious individual able to consistently deliver service objectives, on time
- Ability to work to a month end/quarter end etc. accounting timetable and deadlines
- Organises workload, managing peaks and troughs in workload
- Remains calm and polite under pressure
- Team player, someone who actively contributes to their group to complete
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
