The company
This is an opportunity for a Software Architect to work for one of the biggest names in the payments industry. You will be joining one of the fastest growing payments companies globally with a great engineering culture.
You will be responsible for the design and development of the payment processing platforms. As part of an exciting development center of excellence, you will work with a variety of languages, frameworks, using state of the art software techniques.
You will be responsible for spearheading the design and development activities associated with the API, switch, and gateway platforms. You will oversee the infrastructure that supports realtime capabilities across a global payment processing network. This role plays a huge part in the architecture and technology vision of the company at all levels.

What you will do:
- Establish the technical direction across the organisation.
- Contribute to the maintenance of formal architecture and technology roadmap.
- Identify architectural challenges and lead the creation of a strategy for the company.
- Bring the architecture vision and strategy to life as well as critical approaches to broad architectural concerns that could affect other areas of the business.
- Participate in the definition of architectural principles, styles, policies, and standards; create architectural mechanisms to address concerns.
- You should have a keen eye to notice strengths and weaknesses in an enterprise system, and effectively advocate for appropriate solutions to shortcomings.
- Participate in coding activities that are in support of design outcomes.
- Monitor new technologies, applications of technology, or ways to synthesize technologies into strategic opportunities. Contribute to build vs. buy decisions.
What you will need:
- 10 plus years of experience in Software design and coding experience with external API platforms.
- Experience with C#/.NET or Java
- Experience with System Integration
- Experience identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues for both web-based applications and databases.
- Payments experience would be a huge plus
