Senior / Staff Python Developer - FULLY REMOTE

High-growth AI Insurance Startup

We're working with a well-funded, fast-scaling AI company building a highly ambitious product at enterprise scale. They're now looking to add Senior and Staff-level Python Developers to continue building the product.

This is a product engineering role (not consultancy)

What you'll be doing

• Architecting the backbone of revolutionary AI systems
• Create backend systems that deliver sub second response times
• Help to guide and mentor an extremely strong team of engineers
• Help to create robust, scalable platforms to process commercial claims faster than every before.

What they're looking for

• Expert Python skills with proven experience building high performing systems
• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally with some insights into distributed systems
• Some systems architecture exposure
• Performance engineering exposure
• Mentoring experience

Preferred Superpowers

• Background building AI/ML platforms
• Experience operating within regulated industries

Team & environment

• Small, high-calibre engineering team (~8 engineers)
• Fast-paced, high-ownership culture
• Serious technical ambition — strong people to learn from, but expectations are high
• Backed by recent oversubscribed funding and a very strong customer pipeline

Package

• Senior: ~£90k–£110k
• Staff: £110k-£130k (target level)
• Meaningful equity at an early stage
• Clear growth trajectory as the company scales toward Series A
