Our client is a rapidly scaling AI-driven Insurtech startup building intelligent automation platforms designed to modernise operational workflows, underwriting processes, and enterprise decision-making across the insurance sector.
The platform combines AI-powered document intelligence, workflow orchestration, and automation systems to significantly reduce manual operational workloads across complex enterprise environments.
Following strong customer adoption and successful Series A funding, the business is entering a major growth phase and expanding its engineering team to support platform scale, product evolution, and increasing enterprise demand.
They are looking for a highly adaptable, backend-leaning Senior Product Engineer with strong Python expertise who enjoys solving real product problems, building scalable systems, and operating with genuine ownership across engineering, product, and platform architecture.
This is not a siloed engineering role. Engineers are expected to contribute across backend systems, product development, frontend applications, infrastructure, and customer-facing functionality depending on business priorities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building AI-powered workflow automation systems used within live enterprise production environments
- Developing scalable backend services, APIs, orchestration pipelines, and distributed application architecture
- Contributing across frontend applications, infrastructure, and platform engineering where required
- Building systems capable of processing high volumes of structured and unstructured operational data
- Working closely with product and design teams to solve complex customer workflow and operational challenges
- Owning features end-to-end from initial concept through deployment, iteration, and production scaling
- Improving scalability, reliability, observability, and engineering quality as platform adoption grows
- Helping shape technical direction, engineering standards, and product evolution during a key scaling phase

What They’re Looking For
- 5-8+ years of commercial software engineering experience with strong Python expertise
- Strong backend engineering capabilities combined with practical frontend experience using React or Angular
- Experience building and shipping production-grade SaaS or platform products
- Comfortable operating across multiple areas of the stack in fast-moving environments
- Strong understanding of scalable systems, APIs, distributed architecture, and modern engineering practices
- Product-minded engineer with strong execution instincts and a pragmatic approach to delivery
- Comfortable working within startup or scale-up environments with high ownership and ambiguity
- Engineers who enjoy solving open-ended product and technical challenges rather than operating within rigid ownership boundaries
Nice to Have
- Startup or scale-up experience
- Exposure to fintech, insurtech, or regulated industries
- Experience building AI-enabled products, automation systems, or LLM-driven workflows
