Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join a high-impact programme based in London, working on cutting-edge AI and LLM-driven solutions. This is an outside IR35 contract offering hybrid working, ideal for contractors with strong experience building production-grade AI systems in cloud environments.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-driven applications using LLMs and agent-based architectures
- Build and integrate workflows using LangChain and/or LangGraph
- Develop robust backend services using Python
- Contribute to frontend or full-stack development using JavaScript / TypeScript where required
- Deploy, scale, and maintain solutions on AWS
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, product owners, and DevOps
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and maintainability standards expected in SC-cleared environments
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience as a Software Engineer working with AI / LLM-based systems
- Hands-on experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph
- Excellent Python development skills
- Solid experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
- Proven experience deploying applications on AWS
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and cloud-native development
- Active SC Clearance (must be in place and transferable)
Desirable Experience
- Experience building agentic workflows or orchestration layers for LLMs
- Exposure to MLOps, model monitoring, or AI system observability
- Previous experience working in government, defence, or highly regulated environments
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working - mixture of London office and remote
- Outside IR35 contract
