• Hybrid working, typically 2-3 days onsite in the Bristol area
• £400/d inside IR35, 3 months initial

ABOUT THE CLIENT

We're working with a rapidly growing UK organisation operating across multiple sectors, including emerging regulated environments. Technology plays a critical role in enabling their continued expansion, with a strong focus on security, resilience, and scalability. Due to ongoing growth and internal transformation, they are now looking to engage an experienced Contract Network and Security Engineer to provide interim support and stability.

THE NETWORK AND SECURITY ENGINEER ROLE

As a Contract Network and Security Engineer, you will act as a senior technical presence within the IT function, supporting day-to-day operations while freeing up permanent leadership to focus on strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing senior technical oversight across network and cyber security operations
• Supporting BAU activity and acting as an escalation point for network-related issues
• Offering assurance and guidance during a live network refresh programme (architecture already defined)
• Attending architecture and technical review forums, providing challenge and advice
• Acting as the internal point of contact with an outsourced SOC and SIEM provider
• Providing guidance and task direction to a Network Engineer and Cyber Analyst
• Advising on operational risk, incidents, and change impact

NETWORK AND SECURITY ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Proven experience operating as a senior Network and Security Engineer in enterprise environments
• Experience supporting or overseeing a major network refresh or transformation
• Strong understanding of network and security operations, escalation handling, and BAU support
• Experience working with third-party SOC or managed security service providers
• Confidence operating at an assurance and advisory level during technical change
• Ability to work effectively in hybrid, fast-growing organisations
