Who is the client?Our client is a well-established managed IT services provider operating within the creative industry, supporting over 5,000 users and 100+ businesses. What will you be doing?As a Cyber Security Engineer, you'll play a key role in securing client IT environments by designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions. You'll lead incident response activities, conduct vulnerability assessments, and proactively identify risks across network, cloud, and endpoint systems.
You'll work directly with clients to understand their security requirements, advise on best practices, and implement solutions aligned to recognised frameworks and standards. Collaboration with internal engineering teams and mentoring junior engineers will also form part of the role, helping to maintain consistent security practices across all client environments.
What will you need?* Strong hands-on experience in cyber security or security-focused engineering roles* Experience with firewalls, EDR, SIEM, and security monitoring tools* Strong knowledge of network security (VLANs, VPNs, DNS, TCP/IP)* Experience securing cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)* Hands-on endpoint security experience (e.g. Microsoft Defender, Sophos, Bitdefender)* Solid understanding of incident response and security best practices* Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus knowledge or certification* Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
What would be desirable?* Experience working in a managed services or MSP environment* Exposure to compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, or NIST* Vulnerability assessment or penetration testing experience* SOC or security operations experience* Mentoring or leadership exposure within technical teams
